It's not like I had the car 3+ feet off the ground. It was on regular jack stands, and I had a large floor jack supporting it while the bolts were removed. Got the last bolt off, lowered the jack, and rolled it right out. Had an assistant to hold it steady, so it wasn't a big deal.. Now if I had a lift, I'd certainly have to have a tranny jack. But this is the second tranny I've done, and the first one was done all muscle, but with the car 2.5' in the air, giving enough room to get under it and bench press it, with my brother guiding it on. That was easy compared to swapping rear ends on the '85 TBird. Bleh. Oh yeah, and trying to stab the tranny several times only to find out the pilot bushing was the wrong one. :-) I swore I'd never help him with that POS after that.
